Shrek (2001)
The film that started it all introduces Shrek, a solitary ogre whose swamp is overrun by fairy tale creatures banished by Lord Farquaad. To regain his home, Shrek agrees to rescue Princess Fiona from a dragon-guarded tower, accompanied by a chattering Donkey. The journey subverts expectations as Shrek falls for the princess, who harbors a magical secret that challenges the definition of true love's form.
Shrek 2 (2004)
After returning from their honeymoon, Shrek and Fiona visit her parents in the Kingdom of Far Far Away, where the King and Queen are shocked to find their daughter married to an ogre. King Harold plots to remove Shrek with the help of the Fairy Godmother, Prince Charming, and the assassin Puss in Boots. Shrek attempts to change himself with a "Happily Ever After" potion, leading to a race against time to prove his love is enough just the way he is.
Shrek the Third (2007)
When King Harold falls ill, Shrek is next in line for the throne, a role he desperately wants to avoid. He embarks on a quest with Donkey and Puss to find the only other heir, Fiona's cousin Artie. While Shrek tries to convince the rebellious teen to become King, Prince Charming stages a coup back in Far Far Away, forcing Fiona and the other fairy tale princesses to defend the kingdom from an army of villains.
Shrek Forever After (2010)
Feeling domesticated and longing for his days as a scary ogre, Shrek makes a deal with Rumpelstiltskin that goes horribly wrong. He is transported to an alternate reality where Rumpelstiltskin is king, ogres are hunted, and he and Fiona never met. With only 24 hours to set things right, Shrek must re-seduce his wife, gather his friends, and defeat Rumpelstiltskin to restore the timeline and reclaim his family.
Shrek 5 (2027)
Returning after a long hiatus, the fifth installment reunites the original voice cast for a new adventure in the world of Far Far Away. While plot details remain under wraps, the film is expected to continue the saga of Shrek, Fiona, and their growing family, bringing back the signature blend of humor and heart that defined the franchise for a new generation of viewers.
