300 Collection

300 Collection Complete Series

Based on the graphic novels by Frank Miller, the 300 film series is a stylized, visceral retelling of the Greco-Persian Wars. Characterized by its unique visual aesthetic—combining live-action with "crushed" color grading and slow-motion combat—the franchise chronicles the desperate stand of Greek warriors against the god-king Xerxes and his massive Persian army. From the narrow Hot Gates of Thermopylae to the stormy seas of the Aegean, these films explore themes of sacrifice, glory, and the price of freedom through a lens of hyper-real violence and operatic grandeur.

The Collection

300 (2007)

In 480 B.C., King Leonidas of Sparta defies the will of the corrupt Ephors and leads a small force of 300 elite warriors to the narrow pass of Thermopylae. Their mission is to halt the advance of the massive Persian army led by the self-proclaimed god-king Xerxes. Facing overwhelming odds, betrayal, and monsters from the corners of the Persian Empire, the Spartans fight to the last man, their sacrifice inspiring all of Greece to unite against the tyranny threatening their freedom.

300: Rise of an Empire (2014)

Running parallel to the events at Thermopylae, this chapter shifts the conflict to the open sea. Greek general Themistocles attempts to unite the disparate city-states of Greece to face the massive Persian navy, commanded by the vengeful and brilliant Artemisia. As Athens burns and Sparta mourns its fallen king, Themistocles must use cunning naval tactics to outmaneuver Artemisia's superior fleet in a bloody battle that will decide the fate of Western civilization.
